Andreea-Romana Ban, Lecturer, PhD, UMFST „George Emil Palade” of Târgu Mureş Abstract: In the digital age, the way translations are created, revised and assessed has undergone a fundamental transformation. Translation tools, like machine translation (MT) and computer assisted translation (CAT) have become components of the translation workflow. This article focuses on the way these technologies influence the work of translators. Real life examples will be included in this article to demonstrate the application of tools such as DeepL, Google Translate or Trados Studio. There is an emphasis placed on the way the new technologies can be incorporated into work routines and the benefits they offer enhancing productivity and meeting deadlines consistently while also saving time. However, there are also obstacles to take into account, like the absence of context awareness and the potential for mistakes.
