The Internal Romanian Object: an Autonomous Syntactic Function in Romanian Language

Abstract:
The internal object can be separated from the direct object due to some semantic and syntactic characteristics: its intrinsic semantic relation with the verb, its substitution class restrained to common nouns that cannot refer to persons, the incapacity to be part of passive structures or to be doubled by pronouns with short forms, the impossibility to be rendered by an equivalent subordinate clause, its expressive role, especially in literary texts.
