Corina Bozedean, Assoc. Prof., PhD, UMFST "G.E. Palade" of Târgu Mureș Abstract: Luigi Pirandello is the most translated Italian dramatist in Romania. From the first stage performances, predating his Nobel Prize in 1934, to the notoriety ensured by the prestigious award, and especially in the period after World War II, Pirandellian dramatic translations have experienced a professionalization and an increasing orientation towards performativity. Also relevant is the almost complete lack of retranslations, with a single translation being able to support multiple performances.
