Abstract:
The book ‘Kipling’s Vision of India and the Problem of Split Consciousness’ signed by Nicoleta Aurelia Marcu (Medrea) elegantly captures the duality triggered by Kipling’s process of internalization of the two perspectives that defined him as an individual and as a writer, torn -or completed- by being part of the empire, and country of origin. Belonging to both these worlds, Kipling simultaneously identified himself as part of the two worlds, that shaped and framed his personality. The book before us maps the turmoil in confrontation and completion generated by Kipling’s dual quest for identity.
